Dr. Anthony Okpobrisi laid the foundation for a distinguished career in medicine by earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the prestigious University of Benin. This academic journey, spanning from 1975 to 1981, marked the commencement of his unwavering commitment to the field of ophthalmology.

Driven by a passion for service, Dr. Okpobrisi joined the Nigerian Army, embarking on a remarkable journey spanning over 35 years. Throughout his distinguished military career, he served with excellence at various notable institutions, including Military Hospital Benin, Armed Forces Specialist Hospital Kano, and Military Hospital Lagos. His leadership skills were prominently displayed as he directed the Armed Forces Specialist Hospital in Kano, Military Hospital Lagos, the 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Yaba, and held the position of Director of Field and Curative Medicine at the Nigerian Army Medical Corp Headquarters, Bonny Cantonment, Victoria Island, Lagos. Acknowledging his expertise, Brigadier General Okpobrisi served as the Nigerian delegate to the International Committee of Military Medicine in 2012. His dedication to the military medical corps culminated in his role as acting Commandant of the Nigerian Army Medical Corps.

As a Chief Consultant Ophthalmologist, His passion for effective and efficient eye care extended to surgical consultancy services to institutions such as NKST Hospital in Benue State and Qua Iboe Holley Memorial Hospital in Kogi State. The impact of his surgical expertise resonates in the founding of El-Roi Eye Centre in 2006, a testament to his commitment to delivering excellent professional eye health care services.

Even after retiring from active military service in 2014, Dr. Okpobrisi continued to shape the landscape of eye care as the Chief Consultant Ophthalmologist at El-Roi Eye Centre. A Man of God; his leadership, integrity, discipline and commitment to advancing eye healthcare services have been unwavering, making a lasting impact on the clinic's success and reputation.
